A friend told me of a hidden graveyard full of snowdrops...

Crosses, Kingston Old Churchyard II
Kingston: a small village on the high ground near the coast, set in a landscape of sheep pasture and dry stone walls. Hidden away behind a disused church, and surrounded by ash trees, there's a small graveyard, not too overgrown at this time of year.

Cavendish Bentinck memorial, Kingston Old Churchyard
"Only the road and the dawn,
the sun, the wind, and the rain,
and the watch fire under the stars,
and sleep and the road again."

(From 'The Seekers' by John Masefield).

Current Location: Dorset, England

Yes, there's something magical about snowdrops appearing among the old stones and the ivy...

I love the lines from Masefield - a wonderful choice of epitaph.
